Happy Birthday Sarah!!

This is how the conversation went.

Me: "Here Eric, please sit the cake down there next to you." (mistake)

(Insert the sound of a box dropping on the floor)

Me: "Did you just drop the cake?"

Him: "No, it's fine."

Me: "okay " (because, well, he's my husband and I believe him)

We eat dinner here.

Time for cake!

Me: "Could you hand me the cake?"

Him: "sure"

This is where I open the box.

Me: "I thought you said that you didn't drop the cake?"

Him: "Well, it didn't go upside down."

This is where I look at my mom and roll my eyes and laugh because, well, what else can you do?

This has been proclaimed the official birthday weekend for Sarah. Her birthday is actually September 11th, which is a Tuesday, therefore making this party weekend. We celebrated Friday night with our usual birthday trip to Chuck E. Cheese. She wanted to invite a couple of friends, so we took our pastor's two youngest boys with us. All of the kids had a ball....who couldn't at CEC?? Today we had dinner with my parents and my oldest sister and her family. We went to Applebee's and then had cake. This is were the above mentioned conversation unfolded. Tomorrow we have a family lunch with Eric's family, so we are just going to mix a little celebration in there too. Our house is too small to accommodate ALL of our family, so we are just going to do it in shifts this year!
