Bringin' Home the Hardware

This is Melissa and her daughter

I rode on a bus with an angel Saturday. I can say this because about 15 minutes from the place we were going, Ben woke up, sat straight up and then puked all over the seat that he was sharing with Ashley, one of the teens that went on our trip to the tournament with us. You've never seen kids move so fast. They parted like the Red Sea, half in the front and half in the back. The angel was Melissa, who is a nurse at a local nursing home. She said that she had rubber gloves and that she would clean it up for me.

God.Bless.Her.

Because I don't do puke well and if I would have had to clean it up, there would have been a bigger mess! In the end we decided it was a combination of motion sickness, donuts and a box of Sugar Babies. He was perfectly fine from then on.

The kids were very good and their behavior at the church that we went to was exceptional. We were so proud of them. Besides the noise level on the bus, the ride itself was not terrible.

We passed a few farms between Indiana and Illinois. There was one in particular that was very stinky!
And THIS, my friends, is our youth pastor. Lovely, don't you think? No, he really is an awesome guy and the kids love him. We had a lot of fun and he has to be the safest bus driver ever, not to mention the head counting every two minutes at the lunch stop. He is going to love me for putting this on my blog! But when you do things like this for a picture, you have to expect publication!
This was our whole group. We had two teams. Our team names were very clever, Team #1 and Team # 2. See, told you! ;)
Eric and I coached Team #1. This group of young ladies was on our team. They broke the state record in the Over/Under event. They were awesome!
Oh yeah, and .... WE WON!!!! Team #1 got first place on their circle.

And team #2 got second on their circle. They were in first up until the very end. All of the kids worked very hard on this and it showed.
The bus ride home was fun, too. The kids were excited, obviously.

And then... they crashed, HARD! I'm thinking that they all slept very well last night, I know I did! And guess what? I didn't even have to use my duct tape!

I don't do puke either. For real sister!

I am so very excited to meet you in SA. I heard you are staying with Fran! I will be in the same hotel with you all, and will pretty much be attached at Fran's hip...so I look forward to meeting you in person!

I might not comment everyday...but I stop by everyday! We are a lot alike!

Kay that's all!

Oh, I want to room with you and Fran and Teri. Ho hum. Of course, that would be impossible since I won't even be there...but still.

Anywho, Melissa is a real friend to clean up your son's vomit. Seriously. You should make her a cake or something.

Sounds like a good time all in all, though!
