Comfort...it's for me

It's Bigmama's Spring Fashion Fiesta!

What I am about to show you is what you might see me in if you lived in my town and ran into me, say, at the local Wal-Mart. I have posted a few things that I wear in the winter and a few things that I have bought for this summer. After losing the weight that I have, I had to buy a whole new wardrobe, basically. I'm not complaining, this was a good thing.

First up is my everyday wear for the winter months, which in Indiana is like 9 months a year! I am ready for a change. My everyday clothes include a hoodie and jeans most days. On the feet: tennis shoes.

If I feel like I want to change it up a bit I will switch out my hoodie for a long sleeved t-shirt. I know, I live life on the edge!
Some days, usually the days I workout, I will wear this. Because I'm fancy like that.

Here I am modeling my everyday winter wear, which is apparently my spring wear also seeing as how it can't seem to get much above 40 degrees. As you can see, I really got wild and wore a zipper hoodie on this day. What's funny is that I am wearing this exact outfit right now and it's a totally different day than when this picture was taken.Next I will show you some of the things that I have for spring/summer. I have had these for a few months because I needed clothes for our cruise in February, but we won't talk about that right now because it's raining and cold tonight.
I bought this shirt from Target after I saw it on Bigmama's blog. I haven't worn it yet because of the, well, you know....COLD! Did I mention that my cruise tan is fading already?
I'm not bitter though.
I really like this outfit. I got it at Penny's. This is the first time in 20 years that I have bought something from the junior dept. I enjoyed that, somewhat. These are shorts. It's hard to tell in the picture. I know that you all are going to be sad for me when I tell you that our town only has like three clothing stores - Penny's, Sears and Cato.

You can all wipe the tear away now.

This is my favorite anklet. It's called bubbles and I love the bright colors in it. I have it on RIGHT NOW! This picture doesn't do it justice, really.

Here are my everyday shoes in the spring and summer. Flip-flops. Of course, I haven't been able to wear them very much yet. I think it hit 55 degrees on the day I took this, so in Indiana that's totally flip-flop weather. Oh, and don't mind the fact that my pedicured toenails have grown out.

I just got these shoes for this year. I guess you can get some like them here, but I bought mine here. They were $10 cheaper. They really are very cute on. I went shopping today with my BFF, Tasha, and I almost bought these, but they were out of the size I needed. They are kids shoes, but hey if the shoe fits, buy it. That's my motto!

By the way, does anyone know what it looks like when someone who is 8 months pregnant falls out of the passenger side of a truck while sitting in a parking lot because said pregnant lady NEEDS the crushed ice NOW and so her BFF pulls into the gas station so said pregnant lady can get it and then when pregnant lady gets in the truck she leans out to close the door and slides right off the seat into a big ol' puddle because it's been raining all day?

I do.

and weebles do wobble... and they DO fall down!

Don't worry, Tasha's fine, a little sore but fine. We laughed until we cried.

ANYWAY~~

I just had to include this picture because it reminds me of how warm I was for one week in February. I found this little dress in a shop for $8.00. I needed a swimsuit cover-up and this worked splendidly.

Another warm-looking picture. Don't I look relaxed?
Okay, now on the my summer Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes. First up is actually a new necklace and earring set that I got for free for hosting a jewelry party. It is colorful and matches lots of my clothes.
I wore the necklace on Sunday with this dress. I had on a long sleeved white jacket with it in the morning because it was, yep, cold. I wore the little sweater with it in the evening because it was a little nicer.
I got this outfit here. I saw it and my initial thought was that I didn't like it, but when I put it on I loved it. Loved it! Now, if you are still reading this, what shoes should I wear with it? I was thinking black ballet flats. Is that wrong?
This is probably my favorite new Sunday outfit. I love the shoes. I think I'm going to wear this this week, if I decided I don't care if I freeze.
The last two dresses are what I bought before the cruise because I needed two dressier dresses. I wore these black shoes with both dresses, which help only slightly with the packing issue. I won't even tell you how many shoes I took, but I wore every single pair. Every one.

I put this picture on here to show you the necklace that I wore with this dress. I bought them here. There are earring too, but you can't see them.

This picture is a little closer so that you can see the necklace. I just love this necklace and have had it for quite awhile, but never had the right dress to wear with it. I think I found the right dress!
I had lots of fun writing this post. Thank you Melanie for hosting this fiesta. I hope you all weren't bored to tears reading it!

Where did you get your flip flops? Super cute!
I am from Michigan, and I so hear you about the weather. I am sick of the quandry of which in-between season clothes should I wear today? I came over from Big Mama's place.

While the clothes were cute - your blog post stood out to me for your adorable jewelry (especially the anklet) and *gah* you have the best haircut ever.

I covet your haircut. My hair is about the same length, but doesn't do anything like that! LOVE IT!

I love those black shoes! Very pretty!
50 degrees is flip-flop weather? Seriously? Yikes. When it hits 50here, which it does for MAYBE 2 days in November, that's my sign to put my flip-flops AWAY! :)
I would wear blck ballet flats with that outfit, which is SO cute by the way! Love the pink top.

I ADORE your flip-flopped painted toe feet!!!! I haven't started with the pedicure thing yet this spring - - - still too cold for flip flops in the midwest, at least for an OLDIE like me.

You're gonna love this, I got those flip-flops at Dollar General for like $2.00 in February! The are so comfy, but they probably won't last all summer. :(

That necklace and earings were great. I miss you guys. Today it is like 50+ here and we are under a tornado watch and tommorrow it is supposed to snow. Go figure. I guess it remains true that if you do not like the weather in Michigan wait 5 min and it will change.

Wow, you are one hot Hoosier mama, even if it is cold here. Fun stuff, and I LOVE your taste in clothes. Yes, I think black ballerina flats would look cute with that. I'm so glad to see someone else posted a lot of their own clothes. I was starting to think I did this wrong!
