Super Saturday

Saturdays around this house usually consist of a morning of work and an afternoon of play. Yesterday was no exception. The day started out with a 4 mile run/walk for me. With the Turkey Trot coming up in a few weeks, I thought that I might benefit from actually going 4 miles to see how long it would take me.

I've got some work to do between now and Thanksgiving! The exercise was good though.

After that, the kids, Eric and I did some yard work. We mowed the grass for the last time this year (hopefully) and put away all of the yard furniture, oh, and we finally emptied the pool. The water was a nice shade of green. It was quite lovely.

The next project was getting everyone showered and cleaned up so that we could drive to Indianapolis to see Eric's grandpa. He has been in the hospital all week. He had heart surgery on Friday and should be home soon.

And... because we were driving all the way to Indy, and we live in a small community, we (by we I mean I) decided that we should maybe hit a mall or two. Who would want to waste an opportunity to shop? I know I wouldn't.

And... while I was at Gymboree, my wonderful husband found this sweatshirt for me-

I was so excited!! Do you know how hard it is to find a Texas Longhorns sweatshirt in Indiana? Let me tell ya, it's hard! Did I say that I was so excited? He also took us to Don Pablo's for supper, so I guess you could say I was spoiled.

I am spending Sunday afternoon working on Cassidy's scrapbook. I have made one for her every Christmas that I have had her, which is only two, but still. If you will notice the stack of pictures that I have to put in there, it's going to take me a little while. I think I have like 8 weeks, so it's all good. I am taking a blogging break right now because I filled up the whole book and now I need to get more pages. It really is a stress reliever for me. On the flip side, I am stressed about being so far behind on my three kids' books!

Well, I just looked at the clock and I have to go to choir practice, so I will finish this post later.

I'm back, and all that I have left to say is that sometimes when things are not going just as I think they should, I look up to heaven with this look...

and say, "What's going on here, Lord?" But I know that He sees the big picture that, thankfully, I can't see.

The Bible says in Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. And for that I am truly thankful.

Isn't it such a blessing that we have Him to look up to?
