Don't put vinegar in the pink one

I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday with this photo today....

But yesterday was so full I just had to record some of it. Ethan had his last basketball game last night and they lost by one point. It was a very good game. I never knew that an elementary basketball game could be exciting! Here he is (12) getting under that basket, which you can't see because I didn't get it in the picture. He is learning that his height and size can be used to his advantage when rebounding a ball.

They couldn't have done this if they tried! Somehow the ball got stuck on the top of the basket, ever so neatly.
The cheer leading coach was kind enough to let Sarah cheer with the girls. Their eyes are really not evil, although they look it here. the only thing I don't care for about our cheerleaders is the need to have the shorts rolled 4 times so that the seam is going up the, you know. The girls from the team that we played had on shorts that came just above the knee. I made it a point to tell their coach that I appreciated that.
This was the game that the grandparents got to come to. The games are usually at 3:30, so it too early for them to get there. Ethan liked having them there.
Last night, after the game and after clearing it with the gas company, we boiled eggs for coloring. Oh yeah, that gas company remark was because there is work being done about a block from us and the road crew hit a gas line. There was a wonderful scent in the air, but nothing exploded, so that was a bonus!

Coloring eggs has become more fun now that the kids are a little older.

Notice that there are no pink eggs. This would be because yours truly didn't read the package first and put vinegar in the pink coloring and apparently that will cause the pink to NOT WORK!
Tomorrow starts the fun of baking and decorating cookies and cakes. I also have to clean for my jewelry party (yuck to the cleaning).

A Little Bit of Kylah to Brighten My Day

I have had a wonderful day with this beautiful baby girl. She is such a sweet child. She has the most beautiful, long black eyelashes. I don't get her very often, so I have been spending every minute playing, rocking and feeding her. She's laying right here next to me as I type, not quite asleep but very still. She loves her music. She will say, "music" and try to find her little raspberry pink ipod by feeling around all over the floor, not stopping until she has found it.

To look at her, you wouldn't know that she is blind. But watching her move about today has amazed me. The last time I had her she wasn't moving around a lot, but now she can walk and scoot by feeling for thing that are in her path. She is so smart, too. She will repeat every word that comes out of your mouth and she can count to 10 and knows all sorts of songs.

I watched her from age 6 weeks to 9 months and then her mom found a job in a pre-school with a daycare in it, so she goes there now. We have absolutely fallen in love with her, our whole family.

Kylah with her new "eyes". They do look so real.
"No Sally"
Kylah with her music.
Time for a nap. If you listen closely, you can hear her singing along.

It's Everyday Life Around Here

Judging from my sorry post yesterday, I think I have hit a road block once again. Although I may be busy this week, the interest factor just isn't very high here. There is just not much going on that is blog-worthy.

The kids have been into the Easter books this week. We talk a lot about the true Easter story, but we also join in on the excitement that is the Easter Bunny. We have several hunts coming up this weekend, so they are looking forward to that. I am cherishing these years because soon they will think that it's lame to hunt eggs. Of course, I'm 32 and I still love it! But I also take pictures of my airplane food, so that's not saying much. I'm going to be a kid as long as I can be.

I threw this picture in just for Linda over at 2nd cup of Coffee. She had a similar picture up the other day, but I think mine wins the imaginary bloggy ribbon for cuteness! Don't get me wrong, I love me some LB, but this kid has his mommy in the palm of his hand!

Hoppin' down the mommy trail...

This is shaping up to be one busy week. Ben's birthday is in a couple of weeks, so we are going to celebrate it on Saturday with Eric's side of the family and on Sunday with my side. We are already going to be there to celebrate Easter, so we thought it would be a good time to do it. I didn't take in to consideration that I would have extra work to do!

I can't believe the baby is going to be six! He's worth all the extra work.

Tomorrow I will be at the school stuffing eggs for the Kindergarten egg hunt. It should be pretty interesting since they can't have candy. Ben will come home with a bag full of junk that I will have to pick up for the next 2 weeks! There is only so much that will fit into a plastic egg. I think I might slip in some Starburst (shhhh!). I have Bible study tomorrow night~ I'm behind too!

Tuesday I get to watch my Kylah. I haven't seen her since before Christmas, so I am excited to see her. She always remembers me. I don't spoil her at all or rock her the whole time she sleeps. wink, wink.
Ethan has a basketball game on Tuesday. He has had fun with that this year. While I'm on Ethan, he also got all A's this nine weeks. We are so proud of him.

I have Cassidy the last three days of the week. I haven't had her since before our cruise, so I am anxious to see her, too. I have lots of PTO stuff to do this week. Wednesday we have King's Kids at church and Thursday I am having a jewelry party.

Are you all bored yet?

Eric is off on Friday and I will be spending the day in the kitchen, baking and icing cakes and cookies. I have to make 24 cupcakes for our churches Easter egg hunt, Ben's Webkinz birthday cake and birthday cookies. Does anyone want to come help me? Melody?
Eric has already informed me that he will be watching the NCAA Tourney on Friday! He is so excited that he will actually be home to watch them. He works hard, so I guess it's alright. ;)

So, that's my week, it will definitely keep me hoppin'. Just reading it makes me tired!

I KNOW I bought Easter candy

Next week, when I post on here that I.can't.find.the.Easter.candy.anywhere,
will someone please remind me that I put it in the pink cooler in the kitchen? Please? Thanks so much my Internet friends... I heart you greatly!

Now, on to other pressing issues. I have mentioned before that I absolutely love, love, love Cadbury eggs. The original ones...love them.
Well, I treated myself to one of those bad boys the other day and was so excited about it. Usually by this time in the Easter season I have eaten several of these things, like 10. I know, it's bad. I think I have had 2 since Valentine's Day, so I've cut back. :)
On with my story. I got in the van and headed to the school to get the kids, my mouth watering for the yummy-ness. You think I'm joking.
I opened the chocolate egg and noticed something that immediately saddened me. There is a line that goes around the egg where the two halves of the egg are melted together. There was a section that didn't fuse together and there was a hole. This only means one thing... the creamy middle that I love so much was going to be dry because air had gotten to it. Do ya'll know what I'm talking about? Instead of a creamy center it was more like frosting, dry frosting. A waste of calories, because before when I thought it was going to be creamy the calories were totally worth it.
I ate it anyway because, well, I'm a woman and I had chocolate in my hand and it would have been a shame to throw it out.
I suffered through it, somebody had to.

Praying for a sweet family

Because I know that I have some readers that are prayer warriors, I am asking that you go to Angie's blog. She and her husband, Todd (Selah), are expecting their 4th daughter but already know that unless God works a miracle she will not experience life on this earth.
I met Angie while we were on the cruise and she is such a sweet mommy of 5 year old twins and a spunky little 2 (maybe 3?) year old.
If you want to be blessed, so on over and read about their sweet Audrey Caroline. If you have the time, start from the beginning. You won't regret it.

It's a Sunshine Day!

Look at what we got to do today! The kids were so excited, and so was I!Here is who filled my day with laughter. She is so funny, just like her mama!
I'll end with a little blast from the past. I love me some Brady Kids!
