Ah, day 5 was an interesting one. We decided to go to a beach there in the morning and then go shopping in the afternoon. We had made friends with the wonderful folks from my cousin's church and a few of us, including "Captain" Lisa, took a cab to a place called Van Der Bot. I think that's how you spell it. Anyway, this was one of the most beautiful beaches that I have ever seen. The bluest waters and cutest beach -front shops and eating establishments.
Lisa, Kim and I rented blue pieces of something that passed for very sad floats. I have a feeling that they don't rent too many of those things, but for $3 it was worth it...kinda.
We ventured out into the ocean a bit and hopped on, or attempted to. As soon as we all got on and connected to one another, we started heading straight for the rocks... that were full of nasty crabs....that took off when they saw the three of us heading their way. We were screaming and everyone on the beach was laughing and my wonderful hubby caught it all on video.
The memories.
Robin, Lisa's hubby, came to our rescue and served as our anchor for about an hour. Bless his heart. He stood there and got sunburned and listened to all of our girly talk just so we wouldn't float all over the place. He's an awesome guy that Robin.
After sunning for awhile, we decided that we could use some lunch. We all took off to the grill and quickly noticed that we were apparently overdressed...if you know what I mean. Yikes!
We decided on french fries for lunch because we couldn't really pronounce any of the other things that they were selling. Kim opted to eat a cheeseburger, but in the end she wasn't sure that it was beef. Hmmm...?
Curacao will forever be etched in my mind. We had a lot of fun there.
