Look....My Toes!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Darlene, I am the owner of this blog. Had I not been meeting myself coming and going over the last few weeks, I would have been back sooner.

I would now LOVE to introduce you to my freshly painted toes!! Yes, I am finally wearing flip-flops and my toes have come out of the deep freeze that they have been in for the last several months.

We have been super busy around these parts. Sarah had a drawing that was entered in the local art show. We were very proud of her, as she is pretty much our only hope for an artist in our family! ;)

Benjamin turned 7 on April 2nd. I can't believe that my baby boy is 7 years old. We celebrated with family and friends and a trip to CECheese.

Ben also made it in the 1st grade spelling bee at his school. He came in 2nd place and spelled 58 words. They had to move on to the 2nd grade words and he missed the word "through". I'm thinking that's a pretty tough word for a first grader! We were so proud of him.

Last weekend, we had an Easter egg hunt at our church. We had over 160 people attend, many of them visitor. Pastor Brian was able to present the Gospel to them all. This is a fun outreach for our church.

After the Easter egg hunt, we traveled out to Eric's parents house to celebrate Easter with them. I am very proud to say that I am still a kid at heart....as you can see by the next picture...

(yes, I am aware that the white socks and brown shoes are a total fashion no-no...sorry. I'm just thrilled that my rear end fits on that seat!) :)

This was one of the sweetest pictures that I took that day. This is my niece and Eric's grandpa. He is 92 years old. 90 years separate them. She will love this picture some day.

We had a few extra kids the night before Easter. Some of our dear friends have crazy work schedules and needed a place for their boys to stay. Their mommy was able to meet us at church Sunday morning. It was fun to see all of the boys in their Easter suits!

We had fun coloring eggs on Saturday night. One of the boys said, "I thought that this was going to be boring, but it's fun!"

Sunday we went to the Sunrise Service and Breakfast at church and then our regular services. After that, we drove an hour to my sister's house and had lunch with them and my parents. I love this picture of Ben.

Here is my very pregnant sister and my newest nephew. She has 50 days left. I got to see him moving around...I had forgotten what that felt like. So cool.

On your mark, get set, GO!

What you can't see in this picture is that Ethan's shirt is hanging out from under his jacket and Ben has something all down the front of his pants. Other than that, they clean up pretty well!

Sunday night, we went back to church. We love our church and love being there. Anyway, during our short choir practice, Eric watched our youth pastor's little boy. He found out a way to keep him happy....CHOCOLATE!! If you look closely, you can see the remnants of some m.&m.'s!!

"Need a lift?" :)

So, Tasha, there you go. An update on us. I appreciate that I still have 18 followers. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Love,

Great post! My toes have been very happy lately too, it's nice to feel the warmth of spring, finally! I love all the Easter pics! And your kids clean up great! I failed to get a picture of mine all dressed up before Austin threw up all over his Easter clothes. Fun times. Oh well, there's always next year!
