The last five days, in a nutshell

I know I've had a busy week when I haven't posted for 5 days! This fundraiser thing for the kids' school has got me a little frazzled.

Friday and Saturday were consumed with garage sale work....blah! I am pretty sure that we stocked one whole Goodwill store with everything that didn't sale. I kid you not when I tell you that everything in the pile below is AT LEAST 10 to 15 years old! Do you see that red sleeve sticking out at the bottom? Yeah, that is the windbreaker that we wore when my sister and I were on the Tennis team in High school..... 15 years ago! When my sister pulled that out of her van I about died! And do you see that plaid sleeve? THAT was the most hideous maternity shirt known to man, seriously. I wish I had a better picture of that baby! I was in this picture originally, but it wasn't pretty...at all, so I spared you from having to look at it!

Next we have a dress that at some point was in style and was evidently thought to be pretty. May I just say that I didn't wear that, I was never that little. Oh, and did I mention that it was 92 degrees on Friday and Saturday? This is Indiana in October, what's up with that? Tomorrow it is supposed to be 70 - Yeehaw!

Okay, now, you know you live in a small town when the biggest thing going on today was the new KFC/Long John Silver's opening. People were lined up all through the restaurant and I know this because I was one of them! I ate one chicken plank and one hushpuppy and felt greasy the rest of the day. I think I've had my fix for about 6 months! I would insert a picture here, but I'm too dern tired to get it off of my phone.

I've saved the best for last. On Friday night, I had the privilege of witnessing what the mighty power of a loving God can do. A friend of mine has been in such a deep depression for some time. She was actually headed towards shock therapy and heavy meds. Well, during the week of meetings at our old church, she was completely brought out of that deep pit and is looking at life from a new perspective. I've never seen so many tears of joy shed as I did on that night. Nobody will ever be able to convince me that there is not a loving, merciful God in heaven. And He is still healing His people.

Much Love,

Praise God concerning your friend! My sister has just recently come out of a deep depression so I understand the joy you are feeling at your friend's deliverance!!!
